This is a personal decision for every family. Some pets, especially those that are sick and elderly, may experience stress from a car ride or a visit to a veterinary clinic. Some families may also prefer the privacy and comfort of home.
Our veterinarian will arrive and spend time comforting your pet and verbally confirming all of your wishes. When your family is ready, a gentle combination of sedation and pain medication will be given to help your pet welcome a deep sleep where they cannot feel pain or stress. This is followed by the euthanasia medication which allows your pet to pass peacefully in their sleep. The process is peaceful and painless, with your family able to stay by their side.
